Organize a Small Clean Up

Join us in making a difference in our community by organizing a small group to clean up litter in your neighborhood. This initiative not only enhances the beauty of our surroundings but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility. Gather your friends, family, or neighbors to dedicate a few hours to picking up trash, recycling materials, and enjoying each other’s company in the great outdoors. By volunteering together, we can create a cleaner, healthier environment while inspiring others to take action. Let’s work together to Keep Johnson City Beautiful—one neighborhood at a time.

Spot a Litterbug?

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) hosts an online litter hotline for concerned citizens to report littering from vehicles on the state's roadways. To report a litterbug, call 1-877-8-LITTER or fill out the TDOT online form. With the information you provide, TDOT will send a friendly reminder letter to the owner of the vehicle that includes information about the negative consequences of their litter and how to contain it, plus it informs them that litterers can be fined up to $1,500.
